  • Katrina Stephen Psychology offers individual counselling for older adolescents, and adults of all ages, for a range of issues, such as anxiety, stress, life transitions, changes in mood, neourodivergence, self esteem, work or relationship challenges and more. Therapy is tailored to each individual client’s needs.

  • No, you don’t need a referral to see a Psychologist however you can make an extended appointment with your usual GP to discuss a mental health treatment plan (MHTP).

  • Anything you share with a Psychologist is confidential. There are a few exceptions to this rule; if you give permission for information to be shared; if you are at risk of harm to yourself or someone else; or if information is requested through a court order. If any of these occur, they will be discussed with you as a priority.

  • You can make an extended appointment to see your usual GP to talk to them about a mental health treatment plan (MHTP; also know as mental health care plan). If the GP asssesses that you need a moderate level of psychological support, they may write a MHTP and referral which allows 6 to 10 sessions per calendar year. Please discuss further with your GP. The Medicare rebate is $98.95 per session and usually increases in June each year.

  • If you have private health insurance with psychology/allied health extras, you may be able to claim a rebate. Please talk to your insurance provider about your specific plan.

  • Katrina Stephen Psychology offers in person appointments in Caulfield North on Mondays and Wednesdays and via Telehealth on Tuesdays and some Thursdays.
