Hi, I am Katrina Stephen
I began my career as a nurse in the public health system, where I soon discovered that my true passion lay in connecting with people through listening to their stories, offering emotional support and helping them navigate their way through life’s challenges. This realisation led me to pursue further study and retrain as a Psychologist.
With over 20 years of experience in mental health, I have had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including community health, the Department of Health and Human Services and in various schools. After over a decade (2012 to 2024) as the Head of Counselling in a large co-educational secondary school helping students and their families through a wide range of challenges, I am excited to move into private practice supporting older adolescents and adults. From young people moving towards independence and adulthood, to adults and older adults managing their mental health and navigating life’s many changes and challenges. I am committed to providing a thoughtful, evidence-based, and compassionate approach tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances.
